BOOKS
antoinette nora claypoole moved from the East (born in Rochester, N.Y.) to the West when "Indians were still being arrested in small towns" (Ed Little Crow) Working with/for Indians  in the North and South West of America has informed antoinette's writing and art.  Her first book, Who Would Unbraid Her Hair: the legend of annie mae (1999, dist. Clear Light Books, Santa Fe, N.M.)  was "investigative poetry" about American Indian Movement activist Anna Mae Pictou Aquash.  antoinette's  poems  and literary non-fiction can be found in various places including sandstone dwellings and  random  journals. The best of which include  The  West Wind Review (Ashland, Or), Salt River Review ( Tempe, Az) and the Raven Chronicles  online (Seattle, W a). photography by antoinette  can be found in books published by Wild Embers, a renegade press which she  helped start in Taos, New Mexico back in 2004. Still, Ashland, Oregon is antoinette's literary birthplace and  has been her home   since the town had dusty roads and horses riding through it.
